GlobalStrategists consists of full-time consultants, supported by a network of highly professional consultants, based in Germany, Israel, the Netherlands, Singapore and the USA. Our network consists of a variety of freelance experts, including physicians, scientists, perfusionists, embryologists, nurses, technicians, engineers, salesmen, marketeers, regulatory and reimbursement advisors, and former corporate executives.
Robert Barzelay
Robert co-founded GlobalStrategists (formerly Efes Corporation) in 1992. Robert is a globetrotting business development & marketing pundit in the Life Sciences industries, and has lived in 11 different countries. He has multinational corporate experience, having worked for American, Dutch, German and Swiss multinationals, and as consultant on assignments or as interim manager for several companies, both large and early-stage. Robert has established and managed new corporate entities, R&D laboratories and manufacturing plants. He has set up distribution networks and scouted out business opportunities for new technologies and products. Robert has organized several medical symposia, and has been instrumental in organizing medical training programs for new treatment modalities and technologies. He has been successful in various licensing, merger and acquisition negotiations, has helped establish start-ups, and expanded the markets of emerging companies. Robert holds degrees in History, Political Science and Gemology.
Max Cohen
Max is the other co-founder. After 8 years in private medical practice, he has been working for more than 25 years as an outside consultant for healthcare providers, the Pharma and BioTech industries, government institutions and ministries of health in more than 15 countries. Max provides strategic consulting, marketing services and interactive technology solutions to enterprises, institutions and governments, seeking to maximize the value of their operations. He has been responsible for a substantial number of reorganizations and streamlining projects on all continents. In addition to exclusive assignments under the GlobalStrategists name, Max has been supporting specific projects for large consulting groups and governments. His expertise has also been used for legal, scientific and medical opinions by regulatory authorities in Europe and the USA. Max holds degrees in Marine Biology and Psychiatry.
Rachel Levy
Rachel joined in 1996. She has extensive experience in social research. Prior to us, Rachel worked in several large social research projects for the governments of France and South Africa. Areas of experience include quality of life research, and international research into people values, attitudes and opinions in all life domains. Rachel played a major role in the initial development and implementation of our Market and Competitive Intelligence activities. We have been using her expertise for a range of clients, such as major consulting companies, advertising agencies, and government authorities. Rachel is responsible for the design and development of complex intelligence programs involving a range of different techniques for both startup and large corporate clients. Rachel holds degrees in Social Work and Philosophy.
David Rodrigues de Pereira
David joined our team in 1997. His background is in education and business management. David has lived and worked in the USA, Europe and Latin America. Most of his professional life he has worked for large consulting companies and recruitment agencies. Prior to joining our team, he was involved in organizing and structuring several NGO’s and agencies of the UN. David has been active in a great variety of interim management positions with a wide range of our clients, primarily in healthcare. He was instrumental in setting up and implementing public relation campaigns for private clinics. His most recent activities entailed product sourcing for manufacturers of medical devices, hospital purchasing departments and government procurement agencies. David holds degrees in Commerce and Social Science.
